Taking Pictures of Fireworks

Posted by Ed Hansberry in "Thoughts Media Off Topic" @ 08:57 AM

http://lifehacker.com/397649/get-be...-fourth-of-july

For those of us living in the US today is Independence Day, the official birth of our country. We celebrate by lighting fires and burning stuff all day long. It begins at the grill where hot dogs, hamburgers and whatever else you want are thrown onto an open flame and end at night where we light enough gunpowder to wake the dead.

Boom!

I figured anyone in the US reading this site also has a camera and more than a few of us could use a few pointers to make sure that when we take pictures we get more than just some hazy smoke or a blur of flashing streaks across the image. Lifehacker has a few tips in the link below that will make your picture taking result in a better photo gallery. Once done, post links to your favorite shots from your Flickr, Smugmug or whatever online gallery you use for your images.

And Happy 4th of July!

AnythingButIpod Lists Zune HD Tips & Tricks

Posted by David Tucker in "Zune News" @ 03:30 PM

"We have slightly modified the wireless sync behavior for Zune HD. Instead of remaining connected once you establish the wireless connection, you will now automatically exit the connection once the player determines there is no content to sync. In the auto sync wireless scenario, the player will continue to attempt to reconnect every 10 minutes if wireless sync has been set-up, the player has AC power, no media is playing, and there is no user activity on the player."

If you are trying to unlock every bit of potential that your new Zune HD has, then you might want to head over to AnythingButIpod and check out their forum post detailing every little thing that you may not have known how to do but want to. Or how to do things that you didn't even think about. ABI has TONS of tips up in its forum so if you're a proud new owner of a Zune HD you should definitely follow the link and see what cool things are hidden!

ClicZune: iPod vs. Zune

Posted by Darius Wey in "Zune Talk" @ 07:30 PM

http://www.cliczune.com/2006/11/ipod_vs_zune_10.html

"When it comes the time to choose between the two competing DAPs (Digital Audio Player), many questions can be raised. There is probably no bad decision, but making the right one for you all depends on what “you” want from an mp3 player and why you are buying one. We made a short list of tips to help you choose between the iPod vs. Zune. You could eventually apply those to other DAPs currently on the market. This is certainly not an exhaustive list but it can certainly help you. Have fun!"

ClicZune has published a helpful iPod vs. Zune purchasing guide for DAP newbies. If you're quite the opposite and know each device inside out, from top to bottom, then this guide probably isn't for you. Some of the questions, such as #5, for example, have been given the "basic solution" treatment. Bought a whole lot of iTunes Store tracks? No problem - it's not the end of the world. You can easily combat it by burning the tracks and ripping them into WMA or MP3, or by using a direct conversion tool. And the same holds for PlaysForSure tunes.
