Google's Pac Man Logo Games Causes Hilarious Support Call

Posted by Jason Dunn in "Thoughts Media Off Topic" @ 03:00 PM

http://mashable.com/2010/06/09/goog...n-tech-support/

"Google probably thought it was doing the world a favor when it released its Pac-Man logo that doubled as a playable version of the game. But alas, web users are not as sophisticated as Google anticipated. A legion of Firefox users were perplexed by the design decision and headed over to support to learn how they could fix the "problem." Now we have possible audio evidence - in the form of a tech support call uploaded by YouTube user Mrcoolbrad - highlighting just how confusing this was for parts of the online population."

The video (which is just an audio recording) says it all - very funny stuff. Have a great weekend everyone!

How Cool is J Allard? Let Ars Technica Count the Ways!

Posted by David Tucker in "Zune Talk" @ 07:24 AM

http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2007/08/22/top-ten-things-that-you-didnt-know-about-microsofts-j-allard

"I'm kind of obsessed with J Allard, Microsoft's VP of Design and Development, the man behind the Zune, and probably the most hardcore dude on the face of the planet. I do a lot of research on him in my spare time, and he also provides me with an excuse to feed my telephoto lens and long-range video surveillance hardware obsession."

If it wasn't J Allard, I'd be a little worried. But let's face it, J Allard is cool! He's the man behind the XBox 360 and the Zune. The Zune's potential has yet to come to fruition at this point but there is no denying that the XBox 360 is a must have item. Microsoft isn't generally considered 'cool' but J Allard is definitely cool!

So what did Jon Stokes learn? You'll have to read the Ars Technica article "Top Ten things that you didn't know about Microsoft's J Allard" to find out!

CompUSA Offering Free iTunes Cards With Zune Purchase?

Posted by Aaron Roma in "Zune Talk" @ 03:00 PM

http://macdailynews.com/index.php/weblog/comments/12563/

Let's get the weekend started with this little gem. The Spokane CompUSA had a little advertising mishap which resulted in signage printed offering a free $15 iTunes Give Card with the purchase of a Zune! Just what you need! Maybe in light of this little blunder, Zune Marketplace should offer a free month of subscription for turning in an iTunes gift card!
