Zune Marketplace: Podcast of the Week

Posted by Rocco Augusto in "Zune Talk" @ 04:00 PM

Hello everybody! For those who do not know me, my name is Rocco Augusto. I am a Contributing Editor for one of Zune Thought's sister sites, Smartphone Thoughts. It is a pleasure to be here today to bring you Zune Thoughts' first "Podcast of the Week" segment. Every week for as long as I can remember, the talented staff of this site has been bringing you the latest weekly freebies from the Zune Marketplace and with the current release of the new Zunes and the addition of the long awaited Podcasting support, it just seemed natural to incorporate this segment into the weekly flow of our favorite music player's news stories.

What we would like to do is bring you a weekly list of the top Podcasts that we have been obsessively listening to and hopefully bring something new into your lives that you never knew you were missing!

This week I am actually bringing you three of my all time favorite Podcasts, which all hail from the mighty TWiT Network. The first show I bring to you is this WEEK in TECH and it was voted Podcast of the Year at this year's Weblog Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada. this WEEK in TECH is brought to us weekly from hosts Leo Laporte (TechTV's "The Screen Savers"), John C. Dvorak, and an assortment of lovable other figures from our wonderful world of technology.

Next on the list we have Windows Weekly with Paul Thurrott. For those who are unfamiliar with Paul, he is a news editor for Windows IT Pro Magazine and is the only person I know of in tech who can bring out blood boiling rage from both Apple and Microsoft fan boys with the same sentence. Every week you can catch Leo and Paul as they bring us the latest and greatest news from the land of Redmond, as well as the occasional iPhone tidbits (we won't hold this against them), and even some video game reviews.

Last but not least we have net@nite, which is brought to us by Leo Laporte (I know, he's everywhere!) and the amazingly talented and beautiful Amber MacArthur (TechTV's "Call For Help" and CP24's "Webnation"). Every week you can sit down and listen to Amber and Leo discuss, and sometimes gossip, about the latest in Internet culture.

Thats all I have for you guys today but don't worry, I do plan on poking my head around the front page here at Zune Thoughts every now and again helping the rest of the crew here bring you the latest hot tidbits from my all time favorite digital music player! I'll see you guys on the forums!
