The 16 GB Zune HD: First Impressions & Unboxing

Posted by Jason Dunn in "Zune Hardware" @ 11:45 PM

This is an unboxing and first impressions video of the Zune HD. The model I'm looking at here is the 16 GB model, in black, and it sells for $219 USD as of September 2009. The Zune HD has a 3.3 inch OLED touchscreen, in a 16:9 aspect ratio, at 272 x 480 pixel resolution. It uses the NVIDIA Tegra APX 2600 processors to accelerate graphics and achieve impressive performance. The Zune HD comes in 16 GB (Black) and 32 GB (Platinum) models. ZuneOriginals.net has them in blue, green, and red as well. Want to buy a Zune HD? Amazon.com has them. [Affiliate]

He enjoys photography, mobile devices, blogging, digital media content creation/editing, and pretty much all technology. He lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with his lovely wife, and his sometimes obedient dog. He wonders if the Zune is ever going to exist outside the USA.

Gears of War 2 Zune Unboxing Photos

"With Gears of War 2 getting ready to drop tomorrow, bringing Submergence Day to all fans of the franchise, Microsoft is also releasing a Gears of War 2 Limited Edition Zune. You might remember that they did something similar with the original Zune to coincide with the release of Halo 3. With the GOW2 Zune, Microsoft has pre-loaded a bunch of Gears content on the device itself. A bunch of images of art, the entire Gears of War soundtrack, along with quite a few pieces of video content related to both Gears of War and Gears of War 2."

Andru Edwards got his hands on the Gears of War 2 Zune, and has taken some photos of the unboxing experience. What a great looking Zune...hot damn!

Zune 120 Unboxed

“A reader was casually perusing the aisles of his local Fry's Electronics today hoping to buy an 80GB Zune. To Joe's surprise, he found the only-recently-confirmed 120GB Zune there, right below the Product Red 80GB version. A Microsoft spokesman confirmed that this is "just the beginning" of the rollout of the newest Zune, and more retailers in other regions will start offering the device over the next few weeks.”

It’s been a big weekend of Zune information. The Crave blog over on CNET has this great unboxing of the 120 GB Zune. There’s not much information at the site but if you want to see some pictures of the Zune 120 then go check it out!

And it sounds like we’ll all get a chance to see them in stores very soon too.

Zune Originals Pictures & Video!

Posted by David Tucker in "Zune Talk" @ 10:28 AM

"As a longtime iPod loyalist, I had a lot of mixed emotions ordering a Zune 80 for myself last Sunday. Part of me felt like a traitor, honestly. I thought about my poor 5G video iPod, which had been ignored for weeks at the bottom of my messenger bag while I played with Microsoft's loaner for my review. Now, I'd never abandon my iPod completely, especially considering that part of my job is reviewing the seemingly endless parade of iPod accessories. Still, I figure there's room in my life for another MP3 player, right? I mean, I would be negligent as a digital audio journalist if I didn't order one."

Donald Bell, one of CNet's music experts, has a great unboxing with pictures, descriptions and a video of his custom Zune 80. And what a difference a year makes since Mr. Bell feels as a DAP writer, he should have a Zune. Last year they were saying the exact opposite! Bell was very impressed with the packaging and contents of his Zune Original.

And tonight I should have my own pictures!
